About the trip

14 days in Sarawak, Borneo — June/July 2028 — with World Challenge UK.

What Freddie will be doing

• Days 1–2: Arrive in Kuching, the capital of Sarawak. Meet the team, assign roles, get to grips with the city.
• Days 3–4: Trek in Gunung Gading National Park — home of the world's biggest flower, the rafflesia.
• Day 5: Visit Semenggoh Orangutan Sanctuary, one of the only places to see orangutans in their natural habitat.
• Days 7–11: Turtle conservation on an island in Talang Satang National Park. Protecting the nesting beaches of endangered green and hawksbill turtles, alongside local conservation teams.
• Days 12–14: Back in Kuching to explore and travel home.

Why this matters

Green and hawksbill turtles are both classed as endangered. Sea turtles return to the beaches where they were born to lay their eggs, so keeping those beaches clean, safe and protected is critical to their survival. Freddie's expedition contributes directly to that conservation work.

The cost

The full trip costs £4,500, which Freddie has committed to raising himself over two years. That works out to roughly £160 per month between now and 2028. Every contribution — small or large — gets him closer.
